Being mindful of water use in the kitchen can help a lot in terms of lowering water bills at home. Apart from cutting down costs, conserving water helps the environment as water is a valuable resource.

Apart from bathrooms, the kitchen is yet another part of a home that utilizes a huge chunk of the whole household’s water usage,. It will always be wise to be more conservative in using it, whether through outright use in the faucet, or through kitchen equipment like dishwashers. Plumbing Association of San Diego           

Save Water America came up with tips on how to lower water usage in the kitchen.

Plumbing 101: How to replace a Bathroom Faucet

“When washing dishes by hand, use as little water as possible. Use only the required amount of dish soap and put the dishes in a rack to rinse them all together and reduce rinse water. Be sure to use short bursts instead of letting the water run when rinsing. When you do use the dishwasher, use appropriate water and energy efficient settings.”

“Running tap water to cool it off for drinking water is wasteful. Store drinking water in the fridge in a safe drinking bottle.
